World Series of Poker Tournament Looks for Better Earnings from Exclusive ESPN Deal

Considering the extraordinary popularity of the World Series of poker tournament in Las Vegas, it is not surprising to see the amount of attention that the upcoming 2008 World Series of poker tournament has received from advertising and marketing companies from around the world. With all these different market forces vying for control over the advertising power that the endorsement of the World Series of poker tournament carries, it isn’t hard to imagine that there is some tremendous amount of revenue available to be taken advantage of in the World Series of poker tournament in Las Vegas and the attraction on the general public that it enjoys. With all this popularity, it only makes sense to capitalize and monetize the incoming stream of tourist dollars and the revenue generated through advertising and endorsement deals. In this respect, the Las Vegas casinos that host the world famous World Series of poker tournament in Las Vegas are more than happy to enjoy the types of spectacular benefits that result from this type of publicity, such as popularity that can result and the newfound worldwide exposure to a new gaming and gambling audience. With this effort at appealing to as wide an audience as possible, the already popular World Series of poker tournament in Las Vegas has seen a tremendous amount of revenue poured through the advertising and marketing for the event well in advance of the World Series of poker tournament itself. Considering the amount of revenue generated from previous events of this nature, it is not the least bit surprising to see so much attention poured in to the effort to generate revenue from the 2008 World Series of poker tournament in Las Vegas.

With all this effort to maximize the available earnings that the televising of this type of event can generate, it is only natural to see the world leader in sports television, ESPN, involved in all manner of exclusive deals that would theoretically allow the station to enjoy the effects of exclusive coverage of the 2008 World Series of poker tournament in Las Vegas. While there has always been some type of deal like this and ESPN has usually been in on it, only in recent years has it become so exclusive and focused so completely on generating the types of advertising revenue that are usually only seen through mainstream broadcast efforts of famous television shows and other types of traditional broadcasting and programming.
