The WSOP 2010 schedule of events refers to a few changes, for example, the $50.000 H.O.R.S.E event has been substituted with the $50,000 “Player’s Championship” (Event #2), featuring eight different games (Limit Hold’em, Omaha Hi-Low Split-8 or Better, Seven Card Razz, Seven Card Stud, Seven Card Stud Hi-Low Split-8 or Better, No-Limit Hold’em, Pot-Limit Omaha, 2-7 Triple Draw Lowball).

The first 5 weekends of the poker series (May 29-30, June 5-6, June 12-13, June 19-20 and June 26-27) will include $1,000 buy-in No-Limit Hold’em tournaments with two preliminary flights. Additionally, a sixth schedule of events on July 1-2, will also offer the same event at the same buy-in level. The 41st annual World Series of Poker will finish on Monday, July 5th with the $10,000 No-Limit Hold’em Championship Main Event. The Main Event will be interrupted on July 17th, and will continue on four months later with the “November Nine” final table running from November 6th-9th

Other variations slated for the WSOP 2010 include a number of new rules that will normalize the daily amount of play, and the addition of more poker tables. According to the WSOP 2010 official site, the entire convention center of the Rio Las Vegas will be commited to the 2010 World Series of Poker, with tournament tables in the 58,000 square foot Pavilion and the 38,000 square foot Amazon Room.

The 2010 World Series of Poker is also giving poker players more than five months to sign-up for the first event on the World Series of Poker 2010 schedule. Pre-registration for the WSOP is offered at the Main Cage of the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino and online at the World 2010 WSOP official site. Sign-up for all bracelet poker events will remain open until the start of the third level (approximately 2 hours, 20 minutes after start time) or until all seats are sold.

“Whatever your game and whatever your bankroll, the 2010 WSOP schedule offers something for everyone. We are planning for the largest WSOP ever and look forward to welcoming all players to the Rio in Las Vegas next summer.” said WSOP Tournament Director Jack Effel.

The online poker room has given the poker celebrity a warm welcome with an ”durrrr” Website featuring a welcome video and other interesting tidbits from the career of Dwan.

One of the nicest parts of the ”durrrr” Website is the welcome video from Team FullTiltPoker.com players Howard Lederer, Andy Bloch, Jennifer Harman and others. The ”durrrr” video on Full Tilt Poker also features an appearance from the legendary online poker player, Tom Dwan.

”durrrr” has been keeping himself quite occupied recently with a new Tom Dwan blog, which will actually be authored from poker experiences of ”durrrr” himself. Without mentioning the durrrr Challenge which is on its 27,185th hand out of the projected 50,000 total hands.

Guinness World Record Largest Online Poker Tournament

Posted under Poker & poker celebrities & texas hold em

Full Tilt Poker will attempt to stamp its name on the Guinness Records and to do so; the site has announced that it will try to set a new record for the Largest Online Poker Tournament. Full Tilt’s Record Breaker tournament was unveiled as the finale to FIVE, a week of events and promotions created exclusively to celebrate the site’s 5th anniversary. The tournament will take place on July 19th at 15:05ET, players can buy in for this event for only $5 or 1000 Full Tilt Points and compete for a share of a $250,000 guaranteed with $250,000 added prize pool. Players can also get entries to this event by playing the online satellites available on the site and starting for as little as 30 cents or 50 Full Tilt Points.

Team Full Tilt pros and WSOP bracelet winners Howard Lederer, Chris Ferguson and Phil Ivey have already confirmed they will take part in the event, offering players the chance to sit down at this historic tournament and play with some of the best high stakes and tournament pros in the world.

“By extending the limits of what is possible in online poker tournaments, Full Tilt Poker will allow players to compete for a big payout without the big buy-in,” said Team Full Tilt member Howard Lederer.

Putting together a poker tournament of this magnitude would be nearly impossible for any brick and mortar casino or poker room. The current record for the largest “live” poker tournament was set at the 2006 WSOP Main Event with 8,772 players. To break the current Guinness Record set by PokeStars.com in December, 2008, Full Tilt Poker will need to attract over 35.000 players. If successful, this tournament will establish Full Tilt Poker as World Record holder and cement its reputation as a world leader in online poker industry.

FullTilt.com launches new “Durrrr Challenge” Info page

Posted under Poker & poker celebrities & poker tournament

FullTilt.com has recently launched a new info site containing all the details of the “Durrrr Challenge”, an incredible online heads up tournament presenting some of the most talented high stakes online players taking on the online poker phenom Tom “durrrr” Dwan.

The innovative new site presents online poker players and fans the chance to track this amazing durrrr challenge and receive regular updates. With this innovative “durrrr Challenge” portal players can track all the poker action and check out each hand played during this poker challenge, and check out lots of stats, including number of hands played, time of session, amount won, average won during each hand and much more.

Around six months ago, the twenty-three year old online poker pro issued a heads-up challenge for any player with the money, time and talent to accept it. Any poker player entering the poker challenge has to wager $500,000 against Tom’s $1.5 million. Tom’s challenge specifies that a minimum 50,000 hands need to be played at the same time at four or more poker tables of no-limit Hold’em or pot-limit Omaha. At the end of the durrrr challenge, the player who has more money will win the pool. Essentially if you enter the Full Tilt Durrrr Challenge and win a dollar after the 50,000 hands, then you will secure durrrr’s $1.5 Million, but if he wins by a dollar then he will win your $500,000.

To date, a few poker players have accepted to play the “durrrr challenge”, including WSOP Champ Phil Ivey and David Benyamine, however, only Patrick Antonius has consented to the Full Tilt Poker Challenge. Until now, both poker pros have taken part in a total of 20,647 poker hands out of 50,000, with Dwan ahead $726,546 total.

w.p.t.
Two of the biggest online poker corporations out there are signing a sponsorship deal soon in what is expected to be an extraordinarily profitable gamble. The incredibly popular poker website FullTiltPoker.net has recently stated that they are joining with World Poker Tour Enterprises for the approaching World Poker Tour Enterprises season. Fulltiltpoker will be the prime promoter of the World World Poker Tour’s seventh season, and the poker site will be presented in every single one of the shows which can be enjoyed on FSN. Fulltiltpoker will gain all the rights to the educational portion of the installments.

Particulars of this union have not been released thus far, but the agreement is certain be a breakthrough. This pact will combine two enormously strong Texas Hold’em poker names. W.P.T.E. which is a well-known powerhouse on television through Fox Sports Net channel and Full Tilt Poker which has a vast Texas Hold’em following, and a Texas Hold’em poker team containing players who have won a total of 10 W.P.T.E. titles and thirty-five W.S.O.P. bracelets. FullTiltPoker.com also supports many other poker players and now the Texas Hold’em webpage has started offering poker coaching also.

This pact is sure to bring in a fresh fan base and is guaranteed to satisfy the recent popularity which Texas Hold’em is producing. This partnership is a sign of W.P.T.’s submission of the online poker room business as World Poker Tour will soon shut their Texas Hold’em site W.P.T. online. The pay to play webpage ClubWPT.com will more than likely stay open.

Bodog poker
A monster prize pool was announced by Bodog Poker site, with the main poker tournament awarding $300,000 guaranteed. The total for the eight day poker event will be higher than $650,000, over the course of the fourteen tournament event. The Bodog Texas Hold em event will begin Sunday, September 28th and continues until Sunday, October 5th. The well-known Texas Hold em tournament website will also feature six “Bounty” eliminatories, where the challengers can win $109 in poker credits for each Team Bodog poker participant they eliminate from the poker eliminatories. The most famous poker celebs will be taking on all conteders in the event.

Team Bodog pro, Justin Bonomo, is undeniably psyched about the poker contest. Over the course of his poker playing career, the 23 year old has brought home about $1.4 million. He says that if you had the idea that the first poker tournament was huge, you will definitely be astonished with this year’s Texas Hold em Tournament and the prize money involved. He also challenges anyone that dares to eliminate him from the Bounty Tournament to step forward.

The first Bounty Tournament will be the first Texas Hold em game in the championship on Sunday. Any poker player is able to buy-In directly into this, and any of the other poker events with cash. Or another opportunity is to win their way into the Texas Hold em games through the satellites which are being played every night during the poker championship week. Bodoglife is going to hold six bounty tournaments and seven “Championship Events”, which will feature higher buy-ins and deeper stacks.

Bodog’s tournament will have thirteen events which will lead up to the main poker contest on Sunday, October 5 at 4:00 p.m. E.S.T. This is the championship with a guaranteed $300,000 in cash, despite the number of poker players in the contest. All the poker challengers who decide to enter the main tournament will have to pay $500 for the buy-in and in return will obtain 10,000 in poker chips.
